Just to highlight a few important points about Erewash Walking Month:
Walk Month leaflet
Please note that only the walk title, start and finish time and meeting point for each walk is highlighted on the attached leaflet and if there is a booking requirement. Everyone should follow the front cover QR code using their mobile phone to access information on booking details (where relevant), walking terrain, distance, footwear recommendation and accessibility criteria relating to stiles, children, dogs, wheelchairs, pushchairs and toilets and parking facilities.
Walk Challenge
The 85 Mile Walking Challenge is running again this year, to encourage people to walk every day during Walking Month of May. This equates to 2.74 miles each day and is approximately 54 minutes walking each day. This can be halved for those people with limited time. If you were to continue at this pace for an entire year you would have walked 1000 miles which is about the equivalent of walking from Land’s End to John O’Groats.
Please see the QR code on the poster relating to this challenge, for people to register their details to take part. Everyone who completes the challenge will receive a free adult swim voucher to use at any Erewash Borough Council swimming pool and three consecutive days gym use at either West Park Leisure Centre or Rutland Sports Park.
